While this is not a BUG fix or in fact an issue with the Snitz source code, it has come to our attention that some unscrupulous forum owners are stealing peoples passwords when they log in.
This has come to our attention because a few dozen members of this forum who also frequent another website have had their membership details tampered with, without their knowledge.
It is obvious from our research that ALL these tampered accounts were also members of another forum the owner of which is banned from here.
So as a word of warning, if you share the same password/usernames across multiple forums, it is in your own interest to ensure that your passwords for each forum are unique.< |

Update
As several people have contacted me asking which forum, and now that we have completed our investigations, I feel it is prudent to explain to the members here what has been happening.
It would appear that since banning Image from these forums (sometime in April), several dozen members who have accounts both here and at Images forum have had their profiles altered and their signatures modified to display something which basically objects to Image having been banned.
We have contacted the members concerned, and while they all confirm that they have accounts at Images' forum that share the same password as here, all the members concerned have assured us that they did not make the changes stated to their signatures.
We would therefore urge ALL members change their passwords if they share the same one as their account at Images' forum.< |
