I was going to run this sytem manually in forum using an image inserted into smilies and admins totting up the kudos points...
But wondering if there is a mod that would work for this idea automatically or if its an idea for a mod...I've looked at the points mod and i dont think that would work
The idea: To run several competitions in forum so the member have chances to win things, get something back from participation and build community spirit.
Kudos. The usual thing seen in some forums where members award others were they see fit, but i cant find a snitz one.
So.
It would need an icon on posts so a member could click to give a kudos point to the poster. The points to be awarded automatically on a click. Points to add up. Points to show up on member name details panel along with the tool bar icon. Something to prevent users adding kudos points on their own posts. A prevention for users to add kudos points to the same post twice. An admin control to reset kudos points to zero after prize awarded.
A few quick basic thoughts to run the idea/see if there is anything like this in snitz already.
it has been discussed before, but not sure if any MOD was ever written.
I have seen the system on several other forums, but without exception they all ended up being abused by the members and were therfore pretty worthless.<
