Is there a code to have a spellchecker in the forums? If not may I request one?

Use the "Get ieSpell" button
But nothing is built in to Snitz for that.< |

You could also suggest that the users install the Google Toolbar which has a spell check button for any form on any page that you want to spell check.< |

I was very happy when I saw this post because I'm making a forum in Danish but also with a forum in English. Now I have installed the toolbar to Google but Explorer is now so slow and I have only marked for the spellchecker and nothing else. Is it normal that Explorer get slow and if I uninstall this and use the MOD ieSpell will it also do that Explorer will get slow?< |
This account was hacked by that very honest guy, Image. Better take care with your personal data, if you register to his forums or he will hack into your account here, as well. |

tinem,
I won't use tool bars, hot bars or anything like that, we have enough problems at work with Muppet's downloading that sort of software onto their PC's. That is not to say that they are not right for everyone, each to their own, but we notice a lot of pop ups and degradation in service with users who have installed them.
I use ieSpell on my computer at home and at work and I have not noticed any slowdown while using IE. Depending on the size(amount) of the text it is checking, there is a slight pause while ieSpell does it's stuff, but other than that I honestly have noticed no difference in performance. I offer ieSpell to the members of my forum and no one has yet complained of it slowing anything down.
All the ieSpell MOD does is put an icon on your post and topic pages for your users to download the ieSpell program to their local computer then install it locally, the "get ieSpell" button then changes to a "check spelling" button once they have installed it on their local PC. As far as I know there are no overheads on your forum or server other than when someone downloads the ieSpell exe file. If I am wrong then one of the forum guru's will no doubt put me right.
This reply took less than a second to check when I clicked "check spelling"

Its actually pretty simple, it will add another button to the bottom of your message window (see below) that says either "check spelling" or "get spell checker" for those that have not downloaded the very small iespell program. Once you (the visitor to your board) download the program and install it you get the (check spelling prompt)
Try it on this SNITZ system on the next message you write, its very easy and works just great!

Note, though, that, as the name suggests, this program will only work with Internet Explorer.

If I read the "To Do" correctly, they plan to have something for FF soon. Can't wait. < |
