1/Is it possible to make a script activated by the link in notification-email that not only shows the post but first do an automatic login? I have access to the visitors password in another db (I understand that saving the password is not in balance with Snitz-standard). 2/One alternative is to place Universal login on the page telling the subscriber to login first. Directly after login I want the visitor to land on the post in the email. How is that done?< |

1) Do you want to log a user in automaticall upon activation of their Snitz account? If so, it's not that difficult to do as you already have their username and pasword in a recordset, just a case of using those to write the cookie. Not sure what you mean by showing the post, though.
2) A bit lost on what you mean here, are you wanting to allow users to login before they activate their account?

Search is your friend “I was having a mildly paranoid day, mostly due to the fact that the mad priest lady from over the river had taken to nailing weasels to my front door again.” |

Ok, I'll try to explain better what I mean. When subscribers to a topic are notified by an email from the forum they clic on the link in the email but will not be able to read the topic because they have logged out. They only get something like "There is a problem..., please login"-page. 1.I want the link in the members email also to do an automatic login first and then open the subscribed topic. 2.I'll be back when I have managed to explain q1 2< |

It's not going to be possible unless you append their username and password to the querystring of the link which would be a very bad idea even if you could do it but, with the passwords encrypted, it's not going to be possible to do so.
<edit> By the way, you can use this modlet to link them directly to the last post in a topic. We haven't finished testing it yet, though, so use with caution. </edit>

Thank you, now # 2.Subscribers clicking on the link in the email will be met by a "Please login"-page (Universal login). After login I want the member to be redirected to the topic named in the email-link. Now everyone are redirected to my portal-page after login. What do I need to do for subscribers to be linked to the topic instead?< |

You'll need to grab the URI of the current page and drop it into a hidden field in your universal login form and then retrieve the value of that field when processing the form and use that value for the redirect. Have look at the regular Snitz login to see how it is achieved.
