< guest, not members, allow anonimous posting, post without registration >

The SkantaDjGuestMOD is a MOD of the "Modified Version base on Version V3.4.05 Multi-Language Skin3D" (English/Italian version).
The SkantaDjGuestMOD enables guests (not members or members that want to be anonimous) to reply and post new topics with a nickname (required).

You can download the SkantaDjGuestMOD here: http://www.skantadj.it/download/SkantaDjGuestMODv1.2.zip

By now, it has been performed and tested only with the main settings of the Multi-Language Version (with Access DB);
if you find any problems or bugs you can search for help in the forums of http://forum.snitz.com or http://www.snitzbitz.com (looking for SkantaDjguestMOD) or at http://www.skantadj.it/forum where you can also test this MOD.
There are many files of the Multi-Language package that i have modified (looking in the codes for 'skantadj' you can find where exactly and why it's modified - it's quite explained).

If you don't use the database that i provide in the SkantaDjGuestMOD package and you want to use your DB full of posts
(compatible with the SnitzForum2000 v3.4.05) you have to do this changes in your DB:
'in the table FORUM_TOPICS add a text field called: T_NICKNAME
'in the table FORUM_TOPICS add a text field called: T_LAST_POST_NICKNAME
'in the table FORUM_REPLY add a text field called: R_NICKNAME
'in the table FORUM_FORUM add a text field called: F_LAST_POST_NICKNAME

After installing the files and the DB on your server, you have to register a member called "Guest" and set his password "demo" (if you set a signature the guest can't hide it). You can choose others name and password for the guest user, but you have to set it in two variables in config_skantadj.asp too, where you can also set a text that will be attached to the nickname (i.e. "anonimous user").

Before All read the complete readme file.

SkantaDj, thanks for this mod.
Just to clear things up ; this is not an 'addon' for Snitz 3.4.05 but a complete replacement of the forum with the guest-feature build in ?<

Don't forget to modify A-REPLY and A_TOPICS and admin_forums.asp... to preserve the archive function...
And have you contacted Image for this?<

With "complete replacement" i mean that in the zip file there are all the files of the original package, and i've modified some of them, without delete nothing of the original files, but only disabling some strings and adding code, clearly explaining where and why. i didn't know that i need an authorization. i was looking for something like this to download and i didn't found nothing, then i've made my changes and i've posted it here because i thought that perhaps someone else was looking for the features of the guest-mod, without losing the time i've loose to apply changes. if i can't do it, please cancel this topic. Can i at least use my MOD for my website?<

NO I think you can do this mod, I am only a little confused about zipping all the files instead of the modifyed only.. THe mod is a very interesting mod, and if the changes would be extract it could be implemented in all snitz based forum, but zipping all the files make the operation a little confused. My note to Image is only a bit of courtesy, if a write a code i don't care if someone share it, but I would like to know before, only.<

when i downloaded the snitz forum i had look for an italian version, i don't remember where i download it and i didn't know that the Multilanguage Skin 3D was a MOD and there was a website about it. i'll write there.
i zipped all the files becuase i've changed many of them, but in the readme file i've listed all the files changed. Moreover i thought that for someone that was looking at the snitzforum for the first time (like me before making my MOD) it was more simply to have all the files.<
