You could try hex editing the file so that instead of 0x92 you have the actual hex in the file. Or if you don't have a hex editor post a txt link to the file and I'll do it.<

This is an old topic so I'm not hopeful I'll get any responses, but I tried this mod and can't subscribe to my URI with Google Reader (it reports "not found" when trying to search).

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Oh, and I also get this:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e37'

The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table or query 'FORUM_TOPICS'. Make sure it exists and that its name is spelled correctly.

/forum/RSS.asp, line 94

if I try and visit the page in a browser, so there is obviously a whole lot going on here I don't understand (so much for a simple mod. Sigh).

Uh oh, okay... If your forums are working correctly;

Open your config.asp file in your forum folder, search for the line:

strTablePrefix = "

And see what's your Table Prefix is, then change FORUM_TOPICS in RSS asp like yourTablePrefixTOPICS

No, that didn't work. Now I just get:

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e37'

The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table or query 'MUSIC_FORUM_TOPICS'. Make sure it exists and that its name is spelled correctly.

(MUSIC_ is the strTablePrefix).

Any other ideas?

What table prefixes do you use?

If MUSIC_ is the strTablePrefix in your config.asp, then you should change to MUSIC_TOPICS instead of MUSIC_FORUM_TOPICS

Duh.

Sorry -- either way too old or way too little sleep (or both) to understand this properly at first. Works now and mucho thanks.

Okay, now that this is "working" (sort of) I have a big problem -- it doesn't really work.

Well, it does set up the page and the feed, but Google Reader often (usually) doesn't see any new posts with it. A feed that isn't feeding properly isn't much good, right?

Google Reader does sometimes work, but there doesn't appear to be any good rhyme or reason as to why it doesn't. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can solve this? If you think this is a GR problem I'll try a different reader, but that reader works with every other RSS feed I have.

Do you have a link to your rss.asp file so we can see the contents of the XML file?

Seems to be working okay in my RSS reader (FireFox)...?

One thing however ; please change the domain name in the ASP file from oxle.com to your own domain.
