Has anyone thought of a little feature for private messages that adds the possibility to go from pm to pm instead of having to go to the pm menu everytime for deleting messages?
Something like "previous pm and next pm". Kinda like topic.asp has.< |

Nice MOD thanks!!
I would like to install the PM Pager that was mentioned on page 3 of this thread, the instruction file says to place this: <!--#INCLUDE FILE="pm_pager.asp" --> at the top of the page, however I am unsure which page, any ideas?

I think you can place it in ANY FILE that you want the pager to appear in. try default.asp and see what happens.< |

I posted the link to the topic that tells the problem that I am having, but I have gotten no responses, not sure if my problem was made clear and I am still looking for help, so I am going to post my problem here too in hopes that someone that knows a lot about this mod can help me.
My private messages are working but when ANY member deletes a message it is deleting ALL private messages in EVERYONE'S inbox and outbox. Also when someone reads a message, it is marking ALL messages for EVERYONE read. And last, when you click on the reply to message link, it redirects you to the default.asp page instead of generating a reply box. (I did notice that when you are pointing at the reply link it shows the member ID=0). I would really like to get this corrected, if anyone can help it is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!< |

I would like to do just one more thing... It may be that I have some small thing wrong still, I don't know.
Can someone tell me how to get a pop up window of the member list when you are sending a PM?
When I click on my link in the send box it re-directs me to the members.asp page.
I have seen things in other forums that show a file called pm_pop_members.asp I do not have this file in my forum.
Is there something I can do to get the pop up box of the memberlist instead of being re-directed to members.asp?
Thanks so much!< |

To get the members list in a pop-up window you would need to download an older version of Private Message mod, and extract that pop_members page (or what ever its called).
When I redeisgned this mod last summer I took away this feature.... members.asp has all the same features and PM icons as the pop up page- it works in exactly the same way. But members.asp has better search features. PLUS I wanted to get away from pop up windows- I dont like them. Personal choice I know, but I didnt think the pop up window added anything, so I got rid. But like I said, the members.asp page does exactly the same job- but better!!< |

I have recently installed this MOD, I have the latest Snits 3.4.05 and run on a MYSQL database.
My users indicate they can not turn off the automatic emailing of new pm's, the option is available, however it seems to have no effect.
I have looked at the M_MAIL in my database and the setting does not change, would someone point me to the most likely place where my error must reside? < |

Hi, sorry for the delay in replying.
Now.....there has always been a problem with this mod, let me explain.
The reason why members are getting sent PM's even when they have their function switched off is because THE PERSON SENDING the PM has theirs turned on! Its a glitch. It shouldnt happen I know.
As you are all aware I didnt write the PM mod as per say. It was written by others years ago. Last summer I simply gave the mod a friendlier interface and added new features such as block member list, pm limits/totals etc etc
I cant tell you how to fix this because I didnt write it, and this error has always been there. Its not just an error on your forum- its the code thats at fault.
I suggest you get EVERYONE to turn their function off, and do away with the feature. Unless you really want it.... perhaps someone could take a look at the code and offer a fix.
Problem now is that..... I have swicthed to the other side and a fully pledged PHP boy! So as far as this mod goes I would appreciate if someone else takes it under their wing
Over the next year im building my own php forum, which is going to be built around the same database structure of snitz!!! Cool eh!
Sorry I cant be more help NiteOwl!< |
