I spent several days making a Snitz forum and finally, it's actually up and working! But there is a problem. First, look at this: http://www14.brinkster.com/rlp2183/db/default.asp I used tips in this forum, via search, to figure out how to add banners to the forum. But if you notice, text, such as "login" and "password", all blend in with the background color. Using tools in the Admin. area, I can change the colors of the text, but the change applies to the entire forum, not just the text outside of the forum's main table. Is there a way I can change the color of some of the text without this change applying to all the text in the forum? I'm needing to change some of the text, such as "login", "password" and the text for the sections (like where it has, say, All Forums, then under it, there's a folder icon with other words beside it, like Admin. Section)

You'll need to just go and edit the code directly. inc_top.asp contains the login text etc you'll probably just want to change the <FONT> tags around the text to suit your needs.

Well, being quite knowledgeable of HTML, it wasn't really hard to change everything manually. But the thing is, nothing works. Take a look at this:

<p align="center"><font face="<% =strDefaultFontFace %>" size="<% =strHeaderFontSize %>" color="white">Your username and/or password were incorrect.</font></p>

<p align="center"><font face="<% =strDefaultFontFace %>" size="<% =strHeaderFontSize %>" color="white">Please either try again or register for an account.</font></p>
<% else %>
<p align="center"><font face="<% =strDefaultFontFace %>" size="<% =strHeaderFontSize %>" color="white">You logged on successfully!</font></p>

<p align="center"><font face="<% =strDefaultFontFace %>" size="<% =strHeaderFontSize %>" color="white">Thank you for your participation.</font></p>
<% end if %>

The colors never changed a bit. I've also tried something like this:

<td><font face="<% =strDefaultFontFace %>" size="<% =strFooterFontSize %>"><b><font color="#000000">Username:</font></b></font><br>
<INPUT type="text" name="Name" size="10" value=""></td>
<td><font face="<% =strDefaultFontFace %>" size="<% =strFooterFontSize %>"><b><font color="#ffffff">Password:</font></b></font><br>
<INPUT type="password" name="Password" size="10" value=""></td>

Still, no results... do you see the problem and can you help me fix it?

I don't see any problems with the changes you made, I just tried the same and it worked fine here for me, did you make sure you checked the HTML source to verify that your changes were present in the outputted page ?

On Some servers the changes may not be apparent immediately either due to caching, you browser may require a forced refresh also (hold CTRL+F5/Refresh).

I am currently using Brinkster (I plan to move everything if the forum benefits my site) and the actual URL of my forum is: http://www14.brinkster.com/rlp2183/db/default.asp Everything uploaded properly via Brinkster MOD so I know that the problem doesn't lie there. Everytime I view the forum, at the above URL, the text that SHOULD be white are still black; if you press Ctrl+Alt, you'll notice that the text is, indeed, still there... however it all appears black. Is there some kind of problem with Brinkster or something?

Oh, I forgot to mention this: I viewed source on http://www14.brinkster.com/rlp2183/db/default.asp and the changes I made are not found in the source code. I added banners; the code for the banner rotator shows up. But the <font> tags I added aren't even viewable....

If the font tags arent showing in the output then I guess thats where your problem is, I think I recall hearing a few people say that when they uploaded changes to Brinkster they didnt show-up immediately, could this possibly the the cause of your problems too ?

All I can suggest is to double check you've made the changes and then try uploading them again.
