for my news section i use the events calender mod, but oyu could use the slash mod too...

slash mod does not meet my needs it is just a mod to show recent messages. I am trying to show some news items at the front page.

then use the calender, and create an include to add to default.asp ... check the mod w/code forum, there are several versions of the calender mod there.
