Is it possible to be able to change your signature and automatically change all previous signatures in previous posts at the same time?

Ikonboard and I think UBB allow this feature.

nope, that is not possible, the signature is stored as part of the message and thus can't be changed automatically.

Is there a possibility of a mod or an alteration of this in the near/distant future or would this be a major undertaking?

By the way, i'm not too sure that the e-mail notification feature is working on this board.
