I'd like to see a mod to members.asp that when you click on Member Name to sort by that, it will have letter links at the top of the page instead of page numbers. I know someone made a search member list mod that can do something simular, but I would like this feature without having to search the member list. All the other categories (Title, Posts, etc.) can keep the page numbers, but the Member Name sorting would use the alphebetical links. The links would be A B C .... etc. and then one link such as "#" for all the non letter names.
Alternately if you wanted to do it through a search system such as the mod I mentioned, then I think the entire member list should use that search system. The search system should be at the top of the page and such also have a drop down list to select the search methods (Member Name, Title, etc.) and we could do away with the links in the different fields.

Huwr... I think what he wants is to sort Alphabet and instead of changing pages by number.... Example... All the names are sorted by Alphabet and he wants to find you so he clicks on the letter "H" and it shows all the users that their name starts with the letter H. So with the page numbers listed at the top their would also be the whole Alphabet listed at the top.

Yes, but I think he wants a row across the top with A tru Z so he can just click on a letter to bring up the persons names that Start with that letter. The search for user names now.. if you put in example... H it will bring back all the members names that Have the letter H in them... not the names that Start with H.
I think that I know what he wants, but just can't explain it well today... Lack of sleep I guess.. LOL

You're right... I thought mine had it.... I just checked out his web site and he doesn't have the updated members.asp file. He doesn't even have a search.

Sorry, been gone for a day.
Huwr, what I meant about the search mod is that if we use that to be able to search by Letter, then then search itself should also have a drop-down box labled search by and this box should contain the links that are currently at the top of each column (Member name, title, Posts, Country, etc.)
This is something I'd like to see implemented in a future release of Snitz. It doesn't matter to me whether we implement this as the search mod, or as just changing to letter links from page number links (on the member name sorting at least). If the search mod becomes part of snitz, then I think we should do away with the links on the column names and implement the drop-down box on what to search by. Also, the Alphabetical part of the search mod should have another character added to it such as All # A B C... where the # would list all non-letter members.

I'm not sure if it will run with my forum. I'm still running 3.0sr2 (note the 3.0). I haven't upgraded because I don't wish to lose alot to the mods I've already installed for the site. I'm waiting until the amount of new feature makes it worth while to me to lose some of the mods I implemented. I requested this mod be made because it's somtething I'd like to see added to a future version of snitz.
