Alan, (or anyone who knows) what mod are you using to display your articles on your front page? Is that the content management mod?

I don't know how Alan is doing it, but you could do it with the Slash mod set to show one post at a time, first 250 characters...

it's a simple articles application that my friend programed which i later re-code a bit, except for articles commenting, the articles is rather a standalone thing.

I can't release it though.

Yes, but, you *could* use the Slash mod to do it, couldn't you?

If you use the string variable at the top to specify a forum, "Articles", turn Images and HTML on, choose "1" as the number of articles to display and select how many characters you wish to display, I think it would work really well. You would then just restrict posting in the Articles forum to people you wish to allow to post articles.

Underneath the table cell where you put this articles mod, in a new TR, you'd have to hard code the Read this Article | All Articles bit, but you could make the Read This Article bit dynamic withthe same variable call used in the Slash mod to make the most recent article appear.

No?

As soon as I get my Slash Mod working with my Links Mod, I'm going to try it.

Yes, I realize that I could use the slash mod, but the reason I'm not jumping to that is because I already have the slash mod installed and running. I'd have to go in and change variable names, add fields to a table, blah blah blah...to have two running at the same time. I was really looking for something that was already coded completely. Perhaps next week I won't be so lazy

I just noticed something strange. Why is it displaying Alan''s Articles Section up in the folder tree in the upper left corner? I typed it in as Alan's Article Sention and it displays correctly in the list of topics on the board, but not on the folder tree? I'll post it in the bug report forum.
