Can somebody kindly tell me what function the Mode: dropdown box performs with the three (Basic, Prompt, Help) options? This Mode: box is located here, on the new/reply topic window.

When Mode is set to basic, pressing the format buttons will just insert the tags for the given function. ie. pressing the will insert the Forum Code tags for making something bold.

When Mode is set to Prompt, pressing the forum buttons will present a javascript popup box where you can insert text, then the text you typed, surrounded by the tags that pretain to the button you pushed, will be inserted in the message.

When Mode is set to Help, pressing the forum buttons will get you an alert popup with some Help on what the button is used for.

Best way to see this is to just change the Mode and use the buttons.
