First I want to say "Thank You" for awesome forum software! Snitz is great and the price is incredible. I have had the forum software running on 3 sites for about 2 weeks now and here is what I have discovered (for what it is worth).
1. The first MOD or 2 is fairly simple - but it gets really complicated after that because as you know, your MOD files get over written by the other mods.
2. It would be awesome if all the MOD'ers would use the same "syntax" for commenting their specific code. For example '########START OF MY CODE#############' '########END OF MY CODE###############' I know they are similar - but not the same. Even a space nbefore and after the code would be nice. It sure would help the Newbie.
3. It would be REALLY nice if there was a statement in every MOD that listed "Mandatory" files for the program to work - especially if it will work with a specific database or any of the ones included in the "setup.asp" For example - I have tried for hours to get the POLLS MOD to work - with many trips back to the your forum to read posts. I never did get a response as to whether it would work with the database that came with the program.
4. MOD instructions for the most part are "fairly" clear for a "tekie" kind-o-guy, but at times - still confusing. A "modular" install would be great - a program that will take the mod - check the program it is overwriting and overwrite only what it needed.
5. The forum needs more moderators for a quicker turn around. If you have a site that is not working, a few hours can seem like forever.
Please - understand I am not "baggin" on you guys. From what I can see so far you are doing an awesome job. These are just some ideas.

You know, I firmly believe you are getting an inverted 'you get what you pay for' here at Snitz.
I've seen many for-pay support groups with much worse response than here at Snitz. Our success is mostly 'cause of Richard, Gor, Mike, HuwR, Davio, Stimmy, Kerry, Dave Maxwell, Work Mule, and all the rest who donate their time and expertise to this site.
I probably shouldn't be the one saying this but I'm not trying to toot my horn. I just don't think the folks mentioned above get quite enough credit for what they do!!!

Doug, I trust that you didn't mis-understand my post. I thought I was under a Topic that was looking for ideas/suggestions. If I wasn't I appologize.
Also, I was not in any way demeaning what Snitz has done or is doing - what has been accomplished here is incredible!
But I do think the suggestions given have merit.

Suggestions are always welcomed!
I just took the opportunity to give a plug for the support at Snitz.
Your suggestions are mostly MOD related & I don't have much help with those, I've not installed any myself.

Thank you very much Shep! (and *ehem* Doug )
RE: Questions 1-3, are being addressed by the MOD community itself. They are puting in more standard documentation and such (number two is a great idea) and 1-4 are going to be addressed as we Officialy Standardise the MOD Development community... making it as open and freely interchangeable as possible.
Number 5 is up to you. What we need here are for users that decide they like this product to come back and help each other. So I highly encourage you to spend a few minutes when you visit looking for a post or two that you can answer yourself. Many requests for help are from people who are extreemly "Low Tech" and are new to ASP as a whole, or from people that have not read the FAQ or searched for an answer to their problems here via the "Search" option. So most people that have done a successfull install can at least help those who are installing on the same platforms very easily.
