Somehow my entire website was deleted (my server isn't sure how this might have happened - it wasn't on their end). Consequently, I lost my forum and my database.
I am trying to reload but now I'm getting errors on the default page and the register.asp page.
The default error is:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
Operation must use an updateable query.
/forum/inc_functions.asp, line 644
I don't know what that means. I have two mods installed - the hidden email mod and the random password mod. Everything was working fine before.
That error means that the read/write permissions on your database directory aren't set correctly. It is something that your hosting company will need to fix.
I'm not sure why the permissions would have changed in just a day, but I'll be sure to ask them to help me out. Thanks Richard.
BTW, has anyone heard of any type of security issues with the forums? My server thought maybe some of the scripts I was running provided someone with a doorway into my site to do some damage. I thought it was unlikely...?
