I am in the process of flushing out a new board for our internal development team. Some here are very familiar to news reader software, and they aren't all that thrilled about the choice of web based forum software over a news server. Anyhow, the two biggest features that are being requested are:
1) Threaded discussion view. I know this would be a pain in the butt to add but it would really expand the appeal of these boards to the news group junkies.
2) Track read/unread topics per user. I have been trying to think through how this could be implemented, and it seems like you'd have to have a new table for each user to do this. I think it would be the ultimate solution in keeping up with new threads and discussions and round out the Active Topics feature.
I'm sure these have been mentioned before, but I couldn't find much with the search tool so I though I'd go ahead and post.
