I have had loads of trouble seting up the asp's and other stuff, i know the first thing to do is to edit the config.asp, but how????. i have microsoft access 2000 and windows 98 se, is this bad or good. Please help me setup my snitz forum as i am very impressed by the standerd.
P.S i dont really know much about code, only html.

You should edit config.asp in a text editor such as notepad.

1. do you webprovider support ASP?
if yes:
2. upload all the files as described in the readme.txt.
3. upload whereami.asp (a good idea for newbies to get the destination of the database:
http://forum.snitz.com/archive/redirect.asp?linkid=17
4. edit the config.asp so it matches the destination of whatever whereami.asp tells you, of course rename the file to the database name.
try this, and write again if you get problems.

see mine for Access 2000 at websamba:
'strDBType = "sqlserver"
strDBType = "access"
'strDBType = "mysql"
strConnString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=F:\members\alpha\db\forum.mdb;" '## MS Access 2000
Make sure to uncomment one of the strConnString lines! this: ' - which you remove in the beginning of the line you want to use!

no, thatīs just what websamba needs. Donīt use them for anything other than testing - they are not reliable enough for anything serious.
donīt you have your own host?

but didnīt it work out with Brinkster ?
Brinkster is stable, but very slow. I live in Denmark, so I only have experience with danish host, the one I use is extremely good and cheap, itīs never been down, as far as I know, and I pay 50 pounds a year for 25 MB !
