I have a problem with a group of people registering user names and spamming the boards, i delete all the user names and spams, but its a pain, they keep registering, I have had to disbale registration on my forums.
Is there anything I can do to stop this? a mod to install to ban, or any way to help prevent this?
Instead of deleting their usernames, just lock them.
That way when they register they have to use a different e-mail address.
You could also install one of the "e-mail password" mods that doesn't let the user choose their password, it instead e-mails them a random password that they will have to use to login. This would limit the amount of times a user could keep registering because sooner or later they will either give up or run out of e-mail addresses to use.
