Hi there,
A few days I posted my forum at home.wanadoo.nl/ajaxside and it worked fine. i am using Brinkster. But today, when I tried to open it, it said the following line-

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

Cannot open database ''. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.

/boffers/forum/inc_top.asp, line 42

Does any one know what this means? I really did not chance anything. Please send your answer to boffers@wanadoo.nl

man that would suck big time.. My visitors sure are not gonna like that. Do you maybe know hoe it is possible, b/c a visitor told me he made the first 3 topics of the forum, but the 3rd one wouldn't work, and since then (only couple of hours now) the whole forum does not work!! Maybe too many topics at the same time??

Yep, I've got two sites on Brinkster and get exactly the same problem.

I noticed other Brinkster people's Snitz forums having the same problem. However, I did notice another user who had a heavily customised Snitz forum on Brinkster continued working. Perhaps there is something in the Snitz code that the Brinkster server doesn't like?

Is the database in the db folder? Brinkster says it has to be. Make sure in the config.asp you are using Access 2000 with a virtual directory.

hope it helps

Brinkster is a great place to host some tests and little DB releated things, but there servers get pounded way to hard with lots of "bogus code" to be of any use for a serious web site.

I wanted to test out a little "vote" thing I was working on that displayed the results as you voted, but allow me to track the users IP.

With that small of a "load" it works fine.
But as mentioned above, what do you want for free?

As for HenHen's page problems in the post above this...
Your "problem" is you have a boatload of crap running to try and shove pop-ups down visitors throats (for lack of a better phrase).
But even one pop-up ad is annoying to me... half a dozen with errors and I closed the browser and all the pop-ups before I ever even seen you page.

Just my 2˘
