I installed my forum (on Brinkster)
I read all the posts for setting up and i think i got everything right but when i run the forum i get this error?

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e37'

The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table or query 'FORUM_A_TOPICS'. Make sure it exists and that its name is spelled correctly.

/emotiveresponse/forum/default.asp, line 297

Could someone tell me what this means?
And what i can do to fix it thanks, as i have absolutely no idea what this is refering to?

Thanbks

Ok i fixed it.

run the admin_dbsetup_mod.asp and setup the administrator things, just slect it from the drop dowsn menu and hit button.

After this log on as admin, and select verify installation,

If your login part isnt showing just run the admin.asp to log in.#

Thats all fixed :))

Hi KnomadiX,
hopefully this helps in my case too. I had the same error message, but i'm using Access. I can try this out on next tuesday.
Can you tell me, why there isn't mentioned anything about in the readme file.
Where did you get the info from?
Erwin

The reason why this isn't mentioned is because y'all are using an Alpha version of the forum. The Readme.txt won't be updated until this version is ready for release.

If you read the SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS section on this page: http://forum.snitz.com/alpha.asp , you'll see a reference to the fix for the error y'all have seen.

Yeah it is the alpha

I wanted the normal version, but i been trying for days and the links just wont work, the alpha was all i could get so it ook that instead. Seems to work fine though now.
Is there anything real bad about havin the alpha? If so where can i get the normal ver, the links on the d/l section are deader than dead things.

Oh yeah, Moet, it did say on the d/l page on this site about the mod things, but i thought it meant after the forum was workin, in the end i used the forum search to find out.

:))

Hi Richard,
"because y'all are using an Alpha version"
...so do I!!!
It looks like I'm not the only one using the Alpha Version because your broken Link on your official Homepage.

Thank you very much for the hint. So hopefully I get this forum software working too on next tuesday!
As I used this software now online for some questions, I like it!

One more question please to this forum software.
I would like to insert smilies, but it seems, because I'm using IE6 for this message now, I can't do this!
Some Idea?

Erwin

I use IE6 at home and don't have any problems inserting smilies.

The download section of this site has been fixed.

You can download v3.1 SR4 here: http://forum.snitz.com/download.asp

Thanks Richard,
I fixed it now, installing the forum software successfully.

At home I have installed Win2000 and IE6. When I click the smilie icon, no extra window is opening. Is there any idea?

Erwin
