Hi,
One of the Members of my Forums is having problem logging in with her usual Username & Password; she then signed up for the Forums again, and next time she visited, she still had problems logging in under the newly created one......... she now has 3 Usernames because she has had to re-register because of this problem. We believe that it is something wrong at her end, as no one else at my Forums are having a problem, but we are not sure about what steps she could take to try and solve the problem My first thought is Cookies ~ finding out if she has accidentally turned them off or is using some form of Cookie Blocking software ~ but are there any other things that you could suggest we try at her end? Any suggestions appreciated!

worse than cookies are firewalls....
some firewalls block stuff like the HTTP_REFERRER, which on a previous version of Snitz, made all sorts of problems.....
i have much experience dealing with "help, i cant log in" , a good "solution" is to have the member try from somewhere else... try to eliminate the things it could be such as her computer settings, etc by taking her computer out of the equation !! :)

Well, (I'm pretty sure this is the way it works) if she had cookies disabled, she wouldn't be able to move from page to page without having to log back in. i.e. she'd login, then click on a link and she'd have to login again. As the admin, you can go in there and change her password and then email the change to her and she if she can get back in, then. I'm assumming that she can have her password emailed to her by clicking on a "forgot your password?" link?

Okay. Have managed to get her Logged in, but ONLY with the 'Save Password' box unchecked. I can login as her no problem, so it is definately at her Computer's end. We have changed the password a few times, but with the save password box checked, she still couldn't login. She does not have a Firewall, has Cookies enabled in IE, but something IS blocking her Cookies. I got her to login with the save password box checked, and then got her to check to see if a new Cookie had been stored afterwards, but it hadn't (I got her to close her browser and empty all her Temporary Internet Files and Cookies first). I also got her to add the Forums URL to the 'Trusted Sites' zone in IE, but she is still unable to login with the 'save password' box checked. Now, it is great that she can login, but if she cannot do so without the save password box checked, then I am concerned that it will affect her Timezone setting, as I have the Timezone mod installed.
So that's about where things stand - anyone got any other things we could try so that she can login with the save password box checked?
TIA
