Hi,

I'm setting up an advice forum for a UK based Marine Association
http://216.64.208.204/shmi/snitz_forum.htm (if you must)

In the current test session members are getting mighty confused by "Repy with Quote" when they really want to "Reply to Topic"

Can I remove the "Repy with Quote" icon & function - if so how? I assume that I could jsut edit the apropriate .asp file but could do with some pointers to the right one!

Many Thanks,

Peter

P.S. I think that the Sintz forum system is one of the great redeeming features of the internet - it's quite amazing the effort that peole have put in to help others communicate and for no obvious monetary reward. My sincere thanks & admiration to all those involved.

you need to edit topic.asp, and look for two lines
one starts like

 <a href="post.asp?method=ReplyQuote&REPLY_ID=<%

the other

 <a href="post.asp?method=TopicQuote&TOPIC_ID=<%

both these lines are surround by an if then... statement as follows

if (rsCStatus("CAT_STATUS") <> 0 and rsFStatus("F_STATUS") <> 0 and rsTStatus("T_STATUS") <> 0) or (AdminAllowed = 1) then

if change the or to an and it will display the reply with quote ony if you are an admin, or you could just remove the whole
if then...end if
