Yesterday I started my forum, no problems, some new posts, new members and suddenly during this morning this error when trying to get to default.asp file. I tried to replace new database by old one, it did not help:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
Cannot open database ''. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.
/ifbb/inc_top.asp, line 42
Please help

When trying to access inc_top.asp file:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified
/ifbb/inc_top.asp, line 42
This is what I have in config.asp file: strConnString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & Server.MapPath("db/snitz_forums_2000.mdb") and strDBType = "access"

Are you sure the path is correct, is your db located in
www.mywebaddress.com/ifbb/db/snitz_forums_2000.mdb

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
Cannot open database ''. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.
/ifbb/inc_top.asp, line 42
Why is this happening ? Is there any way I can fix it or just to wait ?

I'm having the same problem this morning. It worked last night, but now it doesn't. Let me know if you find out what the problem is!

I fixed mine. Hopefully it will stay fixed, but it started working when I converted my database to Access 2000.
Try that, it might work for you too. I don't know why it suddenly stopped working, and I sent an email to my host to ask if something had changed.
Let me know it yours works, too, or if I may have to do something else.

It works now, perhaps there was a problem with a server, not with my application.
Hope it will work also in near future.
