Is it possible to make a forum viewable only? For example moderators and admins can post on it, but regular members and visitors can only see the posts. They won't be able to reply or make a new topic. When you lock a forum all it does is lock new topics, but people can still create new topics. Is it possible to make it viewable only?
When you create the topics you can set them many different ways. There is a setting in the forum properties for each forum under "Auth Type" that will allow you to let only Moderators and Admins post but members and visitors can read all of the posts.
None of those options allow me to do what I'm asking. I'm asking if it's possible to have a board that everybody can VIEW, but only certain people (mods/admins) can post on.
Don't lock the Topic, lock the Forum. It will lock all topics in that forum. That way users won't be able to create a new topic in that forum. Or you can lock the Category, which locks all forums and topics in that category.
You would have to set the moderaotrs for the forums, so they will be able to post in the locked forums.

Sorry about that. I have a HuwR modified forum. Thats how I do it in there. I just thought it was the same as a regular Snitz.
