I've installed the Polls Mod at www.MountainNature.com/forum, but I can't figure out how to actually set one up. There is a set feature poll option in the admin options, but no polls selected. As has already been mentioned in other posts, clicking the set feature poll button without any polls in the forum just gives an error message.
Where do I create polls?

you need to have either intAdminpolls or intUserpolls or both set to 1, you will then get a new poll link next to the new topic link on forum.asp

Yep, in the Feature Configuration in your Admin Options, there will be to Poll options. One to allow Members to create a poll and the other to allow you to create an Active Poll for the frontpage. You want the "Allow Members Poll" option "On". Then you will see the link on your topic.asp and forum.asp page. If you added the code correctly to the files.

Got it working, but a new problem has cropped up. The polls work great, and the results etc are great...but -you will want to add the vote.gif and voteresult.gif to the install file. I had to search the web for other poll sites to get these graphics. Very Important -since installing the Poll MOD (this is the only one I have installed), all my security seems to have evaporated. Anyone that knows the name of the admin_home.asp file can change the settings for the forum. The popup requiring admin level username and password no longer appears and any changes are saved.
Finally, I can't seem to change the cookie mode from forum to website. It is currently set to forum. When I change it to website, I cannot logout--even if I delete the cookie. I do not have any other version of the forum on my server.
I appreciate all the assistance you have been providing.
My forum is www.MountainNature.com/forum

I don't have any graphics for those. The original author made his own voting graphics for his site which really wouldn't work with any other site. But if you have any voting graphics that can be used for the mod, I would be more than willing to add them in the mod.quote: -since installing the Poll MOD (this is the only one I have installed), all my security seems to have evaporated. The poll mod shouldn't have anything to do with your security. When a user goes to the admin_home.asp for the first time, they will be asked for an admin pass and username. If they know the pass, they won't be asked again, not even if the log out the forums. The only way it will ask you again for the admin pass is if you close your browser or the Session time has expired. That has changed in the next release. quote: Finally, I can't seem to change the cookie mode from forum to website. It is currently set to forum. Ok, that's a conflicting sentence. You just said you couldn't change the cookie mode, then you said you changed it. I suggest you leave it set to Forum. But since you have swicthed between the 2 options, you're gonna have some login/logout problems with the forums. Which hopefully should pass overtime. Make sure you clear your Temporary Internet Files/Cache, delete your Cookies, close down your browsers and then try again.

you security issue is just because you have logged in to admin_home, it stores this in a session variable, so even if you go out of admin, when you come back you will not have to log in. Shut down your browser and leave it 5-10 mins before trying to log back in, or get someone on a differnet computer to try to access admin screens

This seems to have worked. Thanks again for all your help.
I'm attaching two gif files that can be added into the zip file.
I'm not sure whether I'm attaching these files correctly. If they do not attach, simply save the images from my forum at www.MountainNature.com/forum

thanks again
