I'm running version 3.1 sr4, and when a new user signs up, all they get is the "Hello" in the message e-mailed/private message to them.

I've haven't tried out Huw's latest, but I think he includes a MOD in it to edit the Welcome Message that is sent to New users. You should be able to access it from the Admin Options.

Richard is correct, there should be a link in the Mod Control table on admin_home select the "go" link in the admin column

We have done this and have it set but I am told it's still not working correctly.

check your forum_mods table to see if it has been updated.
