I have uploaded every thing and think that i have done so correctly....however when i go to setup.asp it appears in text format as if i was looking at it in notepad. I thought this file was supposed to walk me thru the installation?

This probably means that the host you uploaded them to doesn't support asp (active server pages).

I was afraid that you would say that but unfortunately it appears to be true
