I know that this is a messageboard script and my suggestion is somehow defeating the object, but I'm setting up snitz as a classified & messageboard site. I've seen the great classified mod, but would it be an idea to deny follow-ups to certain forums so that they can be purely read only (for an advertisement) ???

Check for the guestbook mod in completed mods! I think you'll be very happy!
Though you do raise a good point in that maby we could create another forum type that only allows replies for the original poster, moderators and admins. I could see a lot of potential in this.
