Evening. 2 issues. (should I be in the 'Help' Froum?) Everything was working fine until I add my own top level resource and refresh the page. I then get an error: Error Type: Microsoft VBScript runtime (0x800A0005) Invalid procedure call or argument: 'Monthname' /inc_functions.asp, line 1138
I can run the convertdates.asp and all is fine again until another resource is added. Is this normal? Something that was expected?
Issue 2: Validate.asp Everytime I try to validate a link I get this: Error Type: Microsoft VBScript runtime (0x800A01A8) Object required: 'rscat.ActiveConnection' /include/Validate.asp, line 48 code: Set rscat.ActiveConnection = my_Conn
Again, I am on a local Win2k workstation w/ IIS. Thanks for the hard work, Simonduz

I think you missed the earlier posts that were related. Brent has modified his instructions.

This seems to have worked (at least no complaints so far ) Hope this helps. Simonduz

Issue 1: I cannot reproduce this error. Please try updating your files and then contact me if this does not help.
Issue 2: Please re-download the file! I have fixed the bug! The problem was with line 48, replace 'my_Conn' with 'objConn', or re-download.
And yes please all further questions should be posted in the help forum.
Sincerely,
Brent Trevel, Combat Intelligence www.combatintelligence.com

K...beginning to look kool...
A NEW CHALLENGE: Just went to see the "opensource" portal at http://www.adenin.com/WorkgroupPortal.html (they appear to use snitz as part of their backend BTW)
Here when a user is logged on he is able to select/deselect the items available to him.
Could we have that? is it possible to configure user profiles so, that certain categories appear depending on which he has chosen/belongs to the group he is in?
also when posting, it could be possible to chose which categories the posting should appear in, so that if a user signed up for news about books and a posting e.g. relates to a movie based on a book, the posting appears for all users who signed up for books AND movies?
I know this would be a bit of a challenge, but you guys are so cool, maybe it is possible?

BTW. Does anyone know if version 4 will work with MySQL - our school really can´t afford a SQL 7 server :o(

Wow. That is a very impressive piece of software. I will try to get in touch with the admin of that site ASAP...
For anyone interested, here is a live demo: http://www.adenin.com/demo
Maybe some of those features will make it into the next version. Who knows? Depends how busy my schedule is...

and it´s free...the problem though is that the "free" license only covers 50 users.. ...our school and parents will include 1500 users!
Essential for Snitz to look like this though is the personalization of the content management/forum. When a user signs up, a forum should automatically be generated with user access only. there you can store things like My files, My documents a.s.o. With Huwr´s Fileattachmentsscript it should be possible to make a My Files sektion, listing uploaded files quite easily. and also a my documents under work sektion could have word/publisher/excel-docs a.s.o

Also a minor problem in addlink.asp
all category tables are black, while the fonts are black as well
easily fixed I'm sure, but thought you'd like to know

B&W I think that has something to do with the example links and categories included
I just deleted them all and added new ones
also be sure and validate your links after you add them

Hiya Brent... This error surfaced today out of nowhere. On my main page.
No New Resources Since You Last Visited! Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01a8'
Object required: 'rsLinks'
/Forum/Include/NewLinks.inc, line 55
no matter what i tried it stood there so i tried to use the convertdates.asp and it disappeared. I'm hoping that info will help you figure the problem out. Everytime the links are no longer new resources the error pops up. :)
