Two simple question about mods.
1) If today I download and install a mod, and tomorrow (just as an example) I download the new version that you will release, will I will loose all the mods right? And how to re-install them since the mods files are bases on the old files? Will I need to read the source and manually add the modified parts? Or will you include the supported mods in the new version?
2) Is the files uploading feature supported or is it going to be supported?

Thanx,
- vbDev

Answer to Question 1.

If you download a newer version you will loose your mods.. You will need to add the code back into
the new forum.

I don't EVEN want to think about the day I have to upgrade

Yes

You will need to copy the code into the new files... Most are marked with ######## MOD #########

Some are being put into the new forums...

BTW.. Keep an eye out for HuwR's forum... He adds the basic mods that everyone uses to his
forums and allows you do download them... They are setup and ready to run.
I think that I've seen he's going to release another one soon based on the new code.
His forum does include File Uploads.

*note: **** Rick you beat me to it

From what I know I'll do my best to answer your questions.

You'll have to re-install the mods ( at least most of them ) which will mean reading through the source and adding the necessary code and adding the necessary fields to the NEW database.
What happens is that SOME mods are taken and eventually become part of the base code, so that they are fully implemented and part of the forum as a whole and not just a mod any longer. There are ( a few ) guys that decide what will be implemented into the base code where it actually becomes a part of the forums.

I have no idea if the uploading feature will be included in the next release or not. That's something to ask maybe in the General forum or the Alpha forums.
