BUG (3.1sr4): Private forums readable by anyone

Hi,

I just found out that private forums, which should be hidden for outsiders, are readable by anyone. For example, suppose that there is a topic with id 54 in a private forum. Anyone can read this topic by using the URL

post.asp?method=Reply&TOPIC_ID=54

I searched for postings on this matter, and came up with a couple of results.

This discussion indicates that the problem should be fixed in versions later than 3.1sr2:

This topic also discuss the problem, but no solution is given:

So, what is the latest info on this matter? Which is the best way to solve the problem?
