Well, I'm just deciding to take the plunge into developing database driven websites however I a bit befuddled.
I will be working with small websites, no ecommerce yet, and am starting with MS Access as the database (would like to learn more about Access 2000 projects and MSDE).
Questions:
1. Do I want to start learning with ASP?
1a. Is ASP going away? (to be replaced with ASP.NET) or is there always going to be an ASP need out here?
2. How much difference is there between ASP & ASP.NET? (I heard that ASP.NET does away with vbscript and reverts back to vb?)
3. Should I just forget about ASP & ASP.NET and go with ColdFusion or PHP/MySQL (at least these technologies will be continually improved and not dropped off as it appears MS is doing now that vbscript and ASP have been established)...
Thanks for the help! Kevin |
