bump (back on topic)
I really think that you should consider at least an affiliate banner so that people can utilize it as a small way to help support the Snitz community. Similiar to the other pages you've setup on the homepage, setup a resources page w/affiliate banner at the top and a simple list of books, also pointing back to Amazon.

FWIW, I kinda joined the boycott Amazon movement. Their recently revised (non)-privacy policy allows them to share your personal information with their 'affiliates'. In addition, Amazon's stand on the One-Click patent (and other business process patents) is IMHO completely wrong.
I'm not on my own with this. http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/amazon.html

I totally forgot about that. The boycott over the patents has been going on for awhile. I remember an article (June 2000 issue) I read in WebTechniques which discussed patents and the Internet.
Yes, the One-Click patent and some of the others are ridiculous. It's like if someone attempted to patent the "discussion board".
Did you ever hear of this one? British Telecommunications (BTY) , which earlier in the year said it had discovered it owns the U.S. patent for the invention of the hyperlink technology used on the Internet, has sued U.S.-based Prodigy Communications (PRGY) for copyright infringement. http://www.thestandard.com/article/display/0,1151,20916,00.html
Well I can respect you for your choice. I guess I'm kinda part of the boycott too because I can't wait long enough for shipping so I usually drive down to the local Barnes & Nobles and buy them.
I'll drop the discussion about Amazon then....So how about Barnes & Nobles???? LOL!!! http://www.barnesandnoble.com/affiliate/intro.asp
Seriously, I look at it this way...no matter what people are going to buy books online whether from your site or not...why not take advantage of it?

Yes, I read an article about the BT hyperlink patent, I think it was in Newsweek or something.
I only mentioned about Amazon because I haven't made a purchase from them since they graced my email with their unilateral change in their privacy policy, giving themselves the right to pass along my info I'd put on their site when I did buy some stuff from them. I haven't had any DT's or anything and it's been about a year now ... :)

Honestly work mule... the real reason not to do this... is maintinance.
I know that Gor and I are very stretched with what we have to manage today. And what is realy the earnings potential of this venture? Proabably enouph to compensate the effort for puting up the links and promoting the effort... but I don't see much more than that.
PLEASE tell me if I'm wrong... I would like to be wrong about this... money is a nice thing when you get it... but the effort has to at leaste earn more than the initial investment in a rather short period of time for it to happen right now :)
