Hello all,
Now that Google is taking into account how mobile friendly our websites are, I'm getting a lot of negative feedback from Google on our Snitz forum.

Anybody else got any thoughts on this ?

well, it would entirely depend on how they categorise 'mobile friendly' when what they mean is 'google friendly' :)

I don't have any problems using the forum on my phone, but then I don't use googles browser which limits your browsing experience to 800x600 even if your screen has a much higher resolution.

I am pretty close to releasing the .net version (currently testing and tweaking setup/install scripts) it is totally mobile freindly

Yes, would be useful, we could then see if there is anything we could do to improve the class asp version

'Google mobile update' came into play today, Google's new algorithm for search engine results and it ranks sites not only on their content but also how they display on mobile devices. Another case of Google dominating and then pushing their way on all

Various ways of checking a site's mobility but this tool is Google's own... https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights

Snitz forum software doesn't fare too well by all accounts, not even this Snitz site with a 58/100 user experience score...

interesting, I just tried that against a test site I am working on, my first impression is that it is total rubbish
The preview it gave of the site did not look anything like how the site renders on my phone at all

Roll on the .net ;-)

You get a lower scrore if you got the calendar mod showing, with the pixel size marked as to small.

The only complaints I've received re my site and mobiles is from users of the Samsung Galaxy S5 as the text is too small
All other phones it isn't an issue, not even on my small screened Blackberry Q10
