This is in regard to Burthold's "Photo Album v1.82 for Snitz 3.4.xx" mod and the "Active Topics" file, active.asp.

When a member uploads a photo to his/her Photo Album, is there a means of making it display a link to that as being "recent activity" on the "Active Topics" page when a member clicks on the "Active Topics" link (active.asp)?

Marcel's "Weblogs" displays on "Active Topics" when a member does a blog so I'm hoping the "recent" uploaded photos in the member's "Photo Album" could be included as well.

Is this asking something major?

Even the "Events Calendar" is listed on the "Active Topics" list.

You're mixing apples and oranges. The "weblogs" use a forum and posts/replies, just like every other topic. Photo albums do not utilize the forum topics at all.

A new field would need to be created within the album table to hold the date/time of each upload. Then the actual upload portion of the code would have to be modified to include that information. Any editing of a file would also have to include a change to the field.

Finally, the active topics function would require additional coding to check that field and grab photo descriptions, etc. for inclusion in the report.

So it would take a bit of coding, but it could be done. I'm not up to it right now, maybe someone else wants to take a whirl.

Well, it would definitely be a good add-on mod! Just sayin'. . .

Oh wait! How about something that would make any pics posted to a blog automatically be added to the members' Photo Album? That would work for me! It would then display as "recent" activity in the "Active Topics" area.

And, of course, I'm saying this because I am using Marcel's "Weblogs" mod for "Status Updates" similar to those on Facebook. After tweaking his mod a bit and customizing it, it's incredible!

The problem with that idea is that photos posted to a topic/blog do not have to be uploaded. They can be inserted using a URL.

Well, my members aren't aware of that option since I removed the [img] [/img] button from the "Format" button area.

So, they have to upload all of their photos.

I did that since my site is secure to prevent them from posting photos that weren't on a secure site. Prior to that, we were getting a bunch of security errors from their posted photos.

Then the members' posted images are ALREADY in their photo albums and no action is required.

No, only photos uploaded in the "Photo Album area" go into their Photo Album, Carefree.

The ones uploaded in their posts are in the "My Files" area.

Then a bit of work would have to be done to read them from each source into "active.asp", but it is possible.

Glad I finally explained it properly! (lol)

Thank you for your time with your replies, Carefree.
