I'm at 3.4.03

Somehow I haven't kept up with the updates.

How can I get to 3.4.07?

Appreciate any help or suggestions.

Thank you!

I need the changed files and new files since 3.4.03, I don't want to replace my whole forum. I'm surprised there is not a trail kept of the updates?

3.4.03 is from 2004, that's too many years.

I would probably start anew with 3.4.07 and would add required mods.

You can, however, start with the archives for the Announcements: New Releases forum, and a bit of a list of changes from previous versions is offered. Each subsequent version offers the same.

3.4.04:

3.4.05:

3.4.07.

From .03 to .07, pretty sure all files have been changed in some way.

There was no changed files available moving from .03 to .04 (from what I can see available in the download section) but there have been changed files available from .04 upwards.

But my advice to you would be, setup the latest version of the Snitz Forums in a separate folder than your forum, using a copy of current database, do the upgrade and add the various mods you want to it.

Once it has all the features of your old forum, you can move it over to your live server.

I decided to do a fresh Version 3.4.07 install and migrate my enhancements, mods, etc. I have it up but as expected I have a couple of issues already. I'm using a new access db but hopefully I can import my old users, forums, categories, postings, etc?

1. Although I have Restrict Registration set to on, new registrations go right through without giving me a chance approve.

2. When I try to send an email, I don't see the traditional email window, instead, I see "click here to send email", then it opens up an email client.

Appreciate any help. Thank you!

Can I you the same db so I can bring over all my content, members, forums, categories, topics, etc?

The only db changing mods I installed were the calendar that I use and the poll mod that I don't use because I had a conflict with the calendar. I do plan on installing these mods again. Thanks!

I tried to use the same db, when I ran setup, it talked about upgrading, I don't think that's the way to go.

Not sure if anyone is still following this but is there a way for me to import the users, forums, categorys, etc. into the new access db?

Thanks!

Yes, with Access, you can simply open both databases and copy/paste the tables. You would need to make sure the structure of the tables (field names, types, lengths) were the same and that they were in the same order.

You say you have a new forum set-up. Just point it to your old db in config.asp. Don't run set-up, go straight to default.asp.

As far as I know the Snitz db tables haven't changed.

You're right CareFree. I was looking at an old .06 set-up file.

Zenfor, I'd take Davio's advice. Copy your db and do the upgrade. You're going to have to do it because .07 adds a few mods.

Your Poll mod and Calender mod tables will still be there, so don't run the dbs files for them or you might erase all the data in them.

I already mentioned it here Zenfor.

Setup the new version 3.4.07 forum in a different folder.
Edit config.asp to point to your database.
Run setup.asp to upgrade the database. This will keep all your data and settings.

Once that is done, you will need to find the upgraded version of all your mods that you currently had installed, and install/upgrade them 1 by 1, into your new forum.

You can post in the mod forum for assistance with each mod.

I took Davio's suggestion, copied and upgraded the old db and all looks good for now except one thing I noticed under Members Detail Configuration. It stops at Minimum Birth and shows this error. Thanks for any help.
