I have been looking at the Media Mod and it is Soooo incredible as to what ALL one can do with just that one mod! Amazing! Wow! Such talent to write a mod like that!

I try to modernize my website as much as possible with newly designed icons and graphics of all kinds along with all of the 'bells and whistles' available. And I must say, this mod fits right into that 'classy' category as it is Soooo impressive!

I got so excited and downloaded the mod and was ready to install it but after reading through it, I saw that it's not completely finished.

So, I just wanted to ask the author if you have plans of finishing it any time soon?

I have my fingers crossed!

I do not plan to do any more work on this mod. Because of changes in browsers the mod no longer works as it once did. The media originally opened in lightbox style windows but now they just open as a normal link.

Sorry. Perhaps someone else will want to revive it and update it.

Thank you for your reply, leatherlips. I've always LOVED your mods because you always include a graphic of the way the finished product should look. To me, that's a huge plus! Your mods have always been so easy to follow, too.

Okay; anyone else out there willing to tackle this? :)

I ran into a problem with one of those MODs where it would not embed the javascript as it did in an earlier version of FireFox. Is that what you guys are talking about?

I'm not online much at the moment. If I don't reply quickly enough, please e-mail me through my profile.

I'm not sure what Leatherlips is talking about, Etymon.

Perhaps he'll come back and answer your question.

Being able to do so many different things with one mod is, obviously, very impressive. . .but I think the main feature that appealed to me the most was the YouTube playlist. :)

I can't remember right off, but I am using, I think, the Media MOD on one of my development sites. When I upgraded from an older version of Firefox I noticed that the MOD didn't work anymore. I did some investigating and found the javascript the MOD embedded didn't work anymore using the MOD code I found in the .js file ... inc_code.js ... I think - can't remember really at the moment. I worked around that and modified one of the functions (for testing) in inc_func_common.asp, and I got it to work. Originally, I modified the Media MOD not to insert media at all - something else, so I haven't investigated whether or not my fix shows media. I'll tinker around with the Media MOD and see if I can get it working with what I did for my needs. Again, if I don't get back with you, just e-mail me.

It looks like I am using the Online Videos MOD, so I am not sure about the Media MOD. I haven't installed or looked at that MOD yet as I am on other projects. I'm sorry that I can't help at the moment. Carefree, if is feeling up to it, may be able to tackle it for you.

Thank you so much, Etymon, for your time in checking into this. I totally understand about being busy!

And if Carefree doesn't have time to tackle this or isn't feeling up to it, perhaps someone else would like to look at it. :)

I would even settle for a YouTube mod that would allow posting a playlist.

Again, thank you so much for your time!

I have some code that I was playing with a few years ago that allowed me to insert a YouTube playlist. I didn't continue with it because I didn't feel it was user friendly. You can't insert the whole URL of the playlist. The user has to only insert the playlist number in order for it to work. If you want me to put it together as a mod let me know. If so, I'll work on it later this week.

Thank you, Leatherlips!

I put this together fairly quickly as a zip file. Hopefully I didn't leave anything out.

It currently does not include a button that will automatically insert the [ytplaylist][/ytplaylist] tags. However, if you try it and want it, I'll make a button and include further instructions on how to add it.

You can download what I currently have here:

It's works, Leatherlips! YEA! :)

The playlist you have included with this did not work for me so I just created a quick one. I LOVE the songs in this one below but it's definitely not the best quality but that has nothing whatsoever to do with the mod; that's just the videos I chose in trying to create a playlist quickly.

I'll check back for instructions on the button. :)

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!

That's odd that the playlist I included in the instructions did not work for you. It works for me. Oh well...

I'll work on the button a little later.

If something is going to go wrong it will go wrong with ME, Leatherlips! I think that's called Newton's Law! (lol)

When your playlist didn't work for me. . .before I would give up and tell you it didn't work, I wanted to just try another playlist. With yours, nothing at all came up.

Anyway, thanks again for all you're doing! I greatly appreciate it, Leatherlips!

I'm EXCITED!
