Thermal, you can add the line, yes. It'll solve the issue. Alternatively, can change the format of the chkString as Shaggy suggested. Either should fix problem.

OK - let's go with the tried & true:

Delete the new line 65 and change line 64 to say:

newcat = ChkString(Request.Form("newcat"), "SQLString")
