I have no idea how this could happen. It’s never happened before. For Orthodoxforum.com there is a database. In that database there are _topics and _reply. One of the forums is a forum ID = 2. Everything from forum ID=2 in both those tables has been deleted by someone (not me, I haven’t touched the database since I backed it up 3/15/10)
So what happened to it? The host has a backup from last night but I'd really like to know what happened before I reopen the forum.
what version of the forum are you running? there were some security issues with earlier versions that may have been the cause. If you know roughly when this forum disappeared a look in your web log files may shed some light as to how/what happened

I don't get why people hack in the first place, so nothing surprises me. However we can't give any advice unless we can work out what happened and for that we will need to see your server logs.
As far as we are aware there are no security issue with 3.4.07, do you have any mods installed? or other asp files that share the forum database? Do you have any other admins ? it has been known for admins to delete stuff by accident and not own up.
