Hi, I did a search but found nothing. I just set up a Forum (xx.06) and updated the files to xxx.07. I want users to be notifed by email to register (to post). I tested it and it worked fine for my ISP and my Hotmail account. But when I used my Yahoo account (and different ID) I never got an email message to my Yahoo account (I did check the SPAM/Junk folder).
What's odd is that my SBCglobal.net email address is the same as my Yahoo account so I can use either that email or my Yahoo to sign in to Yahoo email (I get DSL from AT&T and they partner with Yahoo).
Thus I am not sure if is completely related to a xxxx@yahoo.com email address or maybe it didn't like my ID (which was different from above).
I do see the registration PENDING in the Admin interface (which allows me to activate it manually though I have not tried yet).
Thoughts?

well if your hotmail account received an email then it is very unlikely to be the forum, you need to take the matter up with Yahoo |

This is very strange. I have tried to register with several Yahoo accounts yet I never get the email confirmation (I checked my block list, Spam/Junk folder also). So I go into the ADMIN and I see my ID pending so I manually activate it. I can then login with the new ID. I then subscribed to a Topic but never get the emails (to my Yahoo account) when anyone replies to that Topic. Things work fine with my Hotmail however.
Also, I have registered with my SBCglobal.net account and that email goes directly to my Yahoo.com email account as my DSL is with AT&T and they are partner with Yahoo. That works fine as I can get the registration email in my Yahoo account (although it is addressed to SBCglobal.net).
I have tried this using several different PCs at home using VISTA/IE8, XP/IE8, XP/Firefox.
This is very confusing.... |

Some e-mail services (like Yahoo! and Excite) silently delete mail they consider "junk". I found out the hard way when Excite was silently dropping all mail from the Jesus Joshua forum because my hosting service's mail server was "used by spammers"... and they (Excite) refused to change their settings. |

desmo907 email me your YAHOO address, I will try sending you an email from here, if it doesn't arrive I may be able to trace it through my mail server to find out why it doesn't arrive. |

I do not have enough posts to email other members.
Can you email me using this ID @hotmail.com.... I can then send you my yahoo account.
Thx! |

Thats odd. I did check my Mail options and do have the "Automatically send suspected spam to my Spam folder" set. But I get nothing there.
What is odd is that my xxx@SBCglobal.net email goes to that Yahoo address fine however if I use it to register.

I'm not referring to a setting you have access to - some companies will silently permanently delete the mail, bypassing the spam folder as though it were never sent.
That was the case with my host and Excite, and it may be the case here or it may not. It was something worth contacting Yahoo! about for further information. |

Thanks I did understand what you mean and found a place to send Yahoo an email and explain the situation. Wondering what kind of response I may get :)
I had a friend who tried from his Comcast account and it didn't work when he used his work computer but did work OK from his home computer. (I did see him pending after he tried from work and deleted him so he can try from home.) He used the same email address for both so that was confusing as well and we wondered about some possible browser or client side issues as well.
