Can you try just setting dynamic sigs to on?

I've done that and now I get this error when clicking on a topic

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000e'

Out of string space: 'Trim'

/forum/topic.asp, line 153

Hmmm.... on existing topics?

Do you have a tool to check your database contents? What values do you have for member's sigs? That's very weird...

Yes that was on an existing topic.

I don't have a tool to check the database content - the company this is for is hosting on their own server (they are a web company) and are now closed. I will see if I can get hold of someone to gain access to the database contents.

It's weird, as it is crashing when retrieving sigs contents. I wonder why. Even when sigs are empty, the code does not crash. So it's either database or web server related.

Out of string space is very weird....

You saying you have topics, that means you were able to post before?

Yes, there was one that was created with setup. And I can add a new topic although I get an error on submit

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000e'

Out of string space: 'Trim'

/forum/topic.asp, line 153

But the new topic is there!

Now if I click on the topic to view I get the error, but if I click on the icon on the r/h side to reply I can reply (no errors)!

It seems to be related to sigs. Can you try and disable sigs altogether?

That's what I thought. Something has been messed with, sigs related. See what happens with the sig field, when you can have a look at the database tables. Until then, nothing else much can be done.

OK, when I can access the database table, I will post what's there.

Many thanks for your help.

I have connected to the database and I think this is what you were asking for regarding the settings for members sigs:

I'd like to see the values in the tables.

Can't see anything obviously wrong. Will try a local MySQL install and see if I can reproduce that.
