I have a forum that's open to new members, however I am increasingly getting spam posts from new members. I have the forum set to have all posts moderated to I catch the spam and the people trying to post irrelevant items are quickly deterred. However, this does leave an increasing number of members with 0 posts. I would like to find a way of deleting the members with 0 posts. Anyone know of a mod or a way of doing this? I have 30 odd pages of such members and don't relish the thought of having to delete manually.
I'm running 3.4.07.
Many thanks!
PS it would be nice to only delete those members who had been inactive for a month as any new member intent on posting a valid post would have done so in say a month. Not too important. |

just because a member has not made a post does not mean they are a potential spammer.
Also, by removing the account you are basically enabling that person to re-register with the same email address, you are much better off removing the spam and then locking their account so they cannot re-register.

Exactly what I do as soon as I find a SPAMMER:

There is no way to 100% get rid of SPAMMERS, but by locking their account (I also change their title to be "SPAMMER - Account Locked") it helps. |

Thanks one an all!
Agree a user who hasn't posted doesn't mean a spammer, just getting 5 a day and generally if a user hasn't posted in the first few months, they generally or historically don't.
Really appreciate the feedback! Will look for the "Inactive Users" mod. Ta. |

Downloaded that mod but got:
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'
Type mismatch: 'cInt'
/admin_inactive_users.asp, line 62
Some rework of the coding I suspect required. |

Actually this no longer works in terms of deleting the members but it will provide the necessary list of very old members to delete. |

If you have any more problems with the Inactive Users mod, please start a new topic in the "Mod Implementation" forum.

Search is your friend “I was having a mildly paranoid day, mostly due to the fact that the mad priest lady from over the river had taken to nailing weasels to my front door again.” |

I found that Podge's Gatekeeper mod worked a treat in stopping spam. |
