I have tried to find an answer to this problem without success. Members of my forum are not being allowed to edit their own posts. Admin and Moderators can edit without a problem and I can't seem to find what to change to allow members to edit their own posts.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Couple questions:
- What version are you using?
- Have you installed any MODs or made any changes beyond those outlined in the readme?

I'm using v. 3.4.06

I added a couple of mods, but had real problems after the last one (PM's) so rolled back. The last mod was additional smilies - the others were added ages ago. Hope that helps.

When did this problem start, and when was the last change you made? I ask because problems like this tend to crop up immediately after some changes - like adding or removing a MOD.

Not sure when it started exactly as only just been notified by members that they can't edit their posts.

Post a link to a .txt version of post.asp for us to look at.

At what point are they not able to edit, and what message (if any) are they getting? - i.e. They can click on the link, get the form, but not submit; or they click on the link and get a permissions error; etc.

Here's a link to a text version of post.asp

http://havering.fs-server.com/forum/post.txt

What happens is the member posts then when they hit the edit button this is what shows:-

quote:
Note: Only the poster of this message, and the Moderator can edit the message.

Screensize:
Format Mode:
Format:

Forum:
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'

Type mismatch: 'rs'

/forum/post.asp, line 642

Any help would be much appreciated.

If this helps - if I go in to the same post as admin or moderator then the post can be edited, it is only the original member who has problems.

Looks like a bug that was fixed in 3.4.07.
