I'm a little bit lost.
After importing my discussion folder back to my web site, I reciewed following error:
----------------------
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e37'

[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver][mysqld-5.0.24a-standard-log]Table 'user_snitz.forum_config_new' doesn't exist

/diskussion/inc_func_admin.asp, line 48
----------------------

What did I wrong?

Thanks / Tomas

Probably you haven't configured your connection string properly.

OK, I imported a backup version of my config.asp and default.asp, with the result that the board asked me to create all tables..?
------------------------
Installation of forum-tables in the database.

Database Type: MySQL

To install the tables in the database you need to create the empty database on the server first. Then you have to provide a username and password of a user that has table creation/modification rights at the database you use. This might not be the same user as you use in your connectionstring !

Name:
Password:

Forum Admin UserName/Password:

Here you will choose the Forum Admin UserName & Password that will be entered into the database for the Forum Admin. The password should be something that you can remember, but not something easily guessed by anyone else. Size limit is 25 characters.

Username:
Password:
Password Again:
------------------------

I don't understqand this as the data base still exists. The only thing I have done is to drop some tables made by a mod (captcha) whitch didn't work with my version of forum.

Thanks / Tomas

Better check it, as the forum code is missing it.

??? - Sorry Huw, I haven't got the skill to quite understand your question.

As far as I'm aware, I just have one data base, if that's what you ment.

Thanks / Tomas

I looked at the data base and found this:

forum_a_reply
forum_a_topics
forum_allowed_members
forum_badwords
forum_category
forum_forum
forum_group_names
forum_groups
forum_members
forum_members_pending
forum_moderator
forum_namefilter
forum_reply
forum_spam_mail
forum_subscriptions
forum_topics
forum_totals

I guess there should be a "forum_config" as well or...?

Japp - I figured this out reading a little more about the database.

I have asked my host to install a baclup of the database.

Due to a miss at my web host provider they cdon't have any accurat backup of the data base.

The oldest is to new and contain the missing tables.

What can and should I do?

Happy New Year!

You will have to get a table to replace the lost one, no other way around it. Probably get one from a clean 3.4.07 forum and use it.

OK, I got one. I tryed to import it as a plain txt-file, but got a error message. I'm not sure if I should import the first row - the one with the table name or..?

Yes, I entered the phpMyAdmin and tryed to import FORUM_CONFIG_NEW.txt

This was what I thought was the right thing to do, but I have no experieces at all working with data bases.

Under the subject Import I fetched the .txt file, used utf8 asa caracter statement, under the subject Partiel Import I entered 0 posts (lines) to jump over (ignore(?)). Under Format At The Imported File SQL was marked and SQL-compability = NONE

The eeror message was:
-------------
Error
SQL-question:

"ID";

MySQL sa:

#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '"ID"' at line 1
-------------
