Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e07'

Data type mismatch in criteria expression.

/forum/pop_profile.asp, line 1625

here is line 1625

my_Conn.Execute (strSql),,adCmdText + adExecuteNoRecords

Hello fellow Snitzlings... LONG time!

About 4 or 5 years ago switched to SQL Server. About two years ago switched back to access... (raised the price on me by 500% and couldn't afford it)

Anyway, have a problem switching moderators back to normal users. Can't Archive anymore either.

But the moderator thing is my main problem at the moment. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks aagain,

-prescottw

Did you change the DB type in config.asp?

strDBType = "access"

I would recommend MySQL over access it's free and much faster.

You will need to Response.Write the strSQL variable, so that what's being written to the database can be seen.

Thank you ruirib... Response.Write strSql was commented out. Crazy. I worked on trying to figure out what to do for too long and it was right in front of me the entire time. I commented out the my_conn.execute just now and the forum archived perfectly. (it did write alot on the page as it was going through the motion). I'll keep looking at the moderator problem.

Thank You iane87! I actually spent alot of time setting up a mysql database. But I'm working in a HELm environment and have long times between support requests and answers (could not figure out where database was located on server). But I will migrate. Been with same reseller for years and years so I'm patient with them.

Thank you both for helping me.
