I've run into a strange issue with IE7. A user at my forum cannot post the below text. It times out with this error.
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage Most likely causes: You are not connected to the Internet. The website is encountering problems. There might be a typing error in the address.
quote: This year's Oahu festival is partially being made possible by a $10,000 grant boost from OHA. click Interesting addition:
[blue ][i ]Marking its first appearance in Hawai'i, MusiCares, a charity arm of the Grammys established by the Recording Academy, will have a booth at the slack key fest. MusiCares helps musicians who have fallen on hard times, providing job counseling, emergency financial assistance, educational workshops, health screenings, and can provide help with drug and addiction problems. "You don't have to belong to the Grammy organization, you don't have to belong to the local musicians union," Lau says. "If you're a musician they can help. That's what their function is."[/i ][/blue ]
This does not happen in Firefox. I can replicate the problem using IE7. It appears to have something to do with the length of the post because if I leave the formatting, (see the last sentence), I can post up to That's what their functio. If I add the "n" to function, it hangs.
I tried testing a post of straight numbers, with more characters than the above post, without issue. Has anyone run into something like this? Any thoughts? BTW, I posted the text successfully in the testing forum at snitz.com so it is unique to my forum. |

About the only thing I can think of would be the "get" command's 2083 character limit in IE7. I realize that the post doesn't contain more than about 650-700 characters to that point, but I've seen a few other bugs (like a get trying to interpret the number of characters in an embedded image) which could possibly impact it.
Another possible issue is the missing information regarding the hyperlink ("click") at the end of the first sentence. Are you sure this is a complete quotation? |

The "click" was a proper url link. I removed it while experimenting with formatting to see if that was the cause of the issue.
I received second notification from another one of my forum users that he is having trouble posting a "longer" post. It hangs. |

I removed all the formatting and the above text still hangs. |

I have since repeated this problem using Firefox also. Could this happen if my Access database reaches a certain size?
The issue does not appear to be consistent. I have successfully posted extremely long posts. Then, certain posts, do not go through. If I shorten the post to a few sentences, no problem. And then to make the issue more confusing, the forum sporadically accepts the troublesome post. |

I've seen something similar happen once before - I stopped the forum, downloaded the database, did a 'Compact and Repair', and the problems went away. For the life of me I couldn't say what was causing the problem, or why it went away... but it did. Pick a "quiet time" to do it and save yourself an avalanche of e-mail. |

Thanks Craig and Mark. The compact and repair appears to have worked. I am sure that my forum members will let me know. Thanks again. |

I never figured out what caused this problem. I archived some forums and then compacted the database. The issue of longer posts hanging appeared to be resolved.
Today, I tried posting and the problem is back. ??? |

My issue appears to have been a server side issue. I don't understand completely, but as explained to me, it had something to do with SRX. Upon the host whitelisting my domain, the issue seems resolved. |
