My website is currently hosted by 1and1. I have an MS Business package. I want to use email mode on the forum, but I don't know if I have a mail server included in the package. I know that I can access email on the 1and1 webmail. And when I go into DNS settings of subdomains it has a mail server - 1and1 mail server. But if that is a server I don't have a clue what to use as the server address. If it isn't a mail server I can use can anyone recommend an online hosted mail server?
Thanks in advance |

I think I can help with this as I used to be with 1and1.
In the administration tab do the following: - Basic setting select E-mail - In the "new" drop menu select "Mailbox" - Fill in the information.
Then in your forum's Admin Options do the following:
- In the Mail Server Configuration: - E-mail Component: ASPmail - E-mail Mode: On - E-mail server address: smtp.1and1.com - Admin E-mail Address: Enter the e-mail address you created above.

Didn't work. Rang 1and1 and they were incredibly UNhelpful. Didn't even know what I was talking about. |

What is it that didn't work? Did you create your e-mail in step 1? |

What issues do you get in the Admin Options. That was the exact setup I had and I was receiving e-mails. May you need to give it some time. |

Im not sure what issues there are.
Would it be the incoming or out going server address I would use? |

You only need the E_mail server address smtp.1and1.com

When I got to my mail settings on the address I am using it says outgoing server auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk.
Would I use this for the mail? |

Have you checked out the FAQ? Its a lot more helpful than their phone support... I can't get to it from here so I'll try to find the specifics when I get home. I use them, with that package, for two sites with working e-mail - so I know it works. |

According to the online help documents, you need to use the following mail server with ASP Mail: mrvnet.kundenserver.de so put that address in the E-mail server address |
