We moved our Snitz MS 2005 Express forum to a new host. Everything seems to be running fine except now we are unable to shrink the database using MS SQL Server Mgt Studio Express (SMSE). Before we could. I believe it's a user issue since the new UID is different than the previous one because most hosting companies (control panel software) assign different customer numbers to the Schema.

The error says:

Shrink failed for Database 'cxxxxxx_dbname'. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Express.Smo)

User 'cxxxxxx_dbuser' does not have permission to run DBCC shrinkdatabase for database 'cxxxxxx_dbname'. (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)

contact your host and ask them to allow your user permission to shrink the database.

Noticed another issue too since the move, and just with Internet Explorer 7.0. Quite often while navigating around in the forums, IE7 will hang. I hit 4 or 5 pages and then on the 6th IE hangs and never comes to. I can open a new browser session and the site and forum loads fine, even going to the exact same page that is still hanging in the other browser session. I tried Firefox and it does not seem to have the hanging issue. I don't have this problem with any other website or forum. Any ideas on this problem?

Sounds more like a problem with your IE7 installation...

And yet another error with just our Snitz forums since the move:

Microsoft SQL Native Client error '80004005'

TCP Provider: The semaphore timeout period has expired.

/forum/inc_func_common.asp, line 928

Anyone ever see this?

Still a server error, nothing you can do but talk to your host.
