We were hit by a load of spam. I tried to delete each message by clicking on the trashcan icon, but got this message:
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'
Type mismatch: 'chkString'
/forum/pop_delete.asp, line 64
I got the same message when I tried to delete that member from the member list.
To fix this, I tried the following.
1. Upgraded to version 3.4.7. Didn't help. 2. Replaced pop_delete.asp file with backup copy. Didn't help.
I finally deleted the offending person by using a command called "Forum Cleanup Tools" in the Admin section. It worked. But now, when I go back to the Admin section, that command is no longer there. Checked around on that panel and found that "Bad Word Filter Configuration" and "User Name Filter Configuration" don't work--clicking on them does nothing.
Should I shut down the message board, erase the files (except the database), and then install the entire 3.4.7 version?
