In class today (MOUS cert prep course) we were doing mail merges... and I noticed that for the database, they can use word, or access. With word, all it does is store the information in a table similar to access, with sorting options and such, but nothing like access (primary keys and stuff) - I was wondering if its possible to connect to a .doc (word document) to read information. This would be useful for small databases, where not much information is needed to be stored. Because sometimes the database itself EMPTY takes up more space than a word document would with the same information in it.

uhm...i think you can through...sort of - probably not like your envisioning. OLEDB can "connect" to text files, Excel, and many, many other things.

I did a search on various sites, and found something for Excel, but not Word. I dont have excel though... This is a matter of curiosity, not urgency, so its not really important that it be done, it would just be cool is all :)
